Super Metroid MSU-1

A recent hack of Super Metroid that replaces the soundtrack with Blake Robinson’s Super Metroid Symphony album, a symphonic remix of the game’s music.

The hack utilizes a custom soundchip called the MSU-1 that allows for CD quality audio despite the lack of a CD drive on the SNES. As such it only works on a few emulators, specifically bsnes or Higan.

People have done similar hacks of Legend of Zelda: Link to the Past and Mega Man X as well (and in the case of Zelda, it also includes animated FMV cutscenes).
