Now that’s my jam. GREAT drums in this game (many samples layered on top of an additional FM kick drum for added low frequency oomph, if you were wondering). It also uses a great trick that is so simple but I somehow never hear in other games: the three notes of the chords are spread out evenly over the left, center and right stereo channels. This gives the song a big stereo sound at no extra “cost”. The YM2608 PSG channels duplicate the chords for an even thicker sound. That’s essentially what all chip music tricks/techniques boil down to: fooling your ears into believing it sounds bigger than it is. Everything beyond that is being a good composer/synthesist.

Thanks again to MaliceX.
