80sanime:

To celebrate 2015 and nearly 10,000 followers, I’ve put together a list of what I consider the 100 best anime spanning the 15 year period between 1979 and 1994… my favorite era of anime production and the inspiration behind this Tumblr.

A few notes about the list:
-It’s completely subjective, and as such is limited to titles I’ve personally seen/enjoyed.
-It is also limited to titles I know have received an English translation (be it officially or non-officially).
-I’ve deliberately left out Dragon Ball, Sailor Moon and Studio Ghibli films (I consider Nausicaa to be pre-Ghibli) since I feel they are already very well-known and need little introduction from me.
-Regarding the links: if a title has an official stream, I’ve linked to that. If it has a current, in-print Blu-ray or DVD release, I’ve linked to its Amazon listing. If it is no longer in-print or is unlicensed, I’ve linked to a torrent. If you’ve noticed I’ve missed an official outlet for any of the anime below, please inform me and I’ll change the link!
